What is the Digital Skills Hub
This is a pilot program by the Franklin County Digital Equity Coalition and backed by the City of Columbus and Franklin County. We are dedicated to empowering community members with essential digital skills and enhancing their confidence and capability in the evolving digital landscape.
Our goals are to:
Equip individuals with practical digital skills
Increase access to new devices for further learning
Foster independence and self-sufficiency online
Bridge the digital divide and advance digital inclusion
Enhance opportunities for personal and professional growth

Our program is designed for everyone, regardless of age, background, or prior experience.
Open doors to new opportunities in education, employment, and personal growth. If you qualify, you could receive a free Chromebook after completing the 10-hour in-person course!

No, the training classes offered by Digital Skills Hub are provided at no cost to residents.

Yes! You must complete the training at the organization you select to receive the new device.

Participants must reside in Franklin County and be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line. Please consult this table for reference.

Each household can only receive one device through this program if they qualify.

Yes, all the organizations in Digital Skills Hub are offering the same curriculum. However, methods of teaching may vary. The training at Goodwill Columbus will focus more on workforce skills. Jewish Family Services will be suitable for older adults/seniors. The Library is suitable for the general public.

You can self-select into any of the organizations. The training at Goodwill Columbus will focus more on workforce skills. Jewish Family Services will be suitable for older adults/seniors. The Library is suitable for the general public.

Unfortunately not. We will be going through a selection process to ensure residents who participate in this program are based in Columbus and partner organizations have enough capacity, as these classes will be limited in size.
